Following the June 2008 open meeting at the Bedminster Cricket Club on Clanage Road, a new Bower Ashton Residents Association (BARA) committee was formed to represent our Bower Ashton community.

Its been a busy three years since then and many changes seem likely in the future for our small community. To keep in touch see these notes on our September 2011 AGM meeting, the news and comments pages. The most recent news and comments are shown on the right hand side of most pages on this website.

There is also a lot of general information on the Bower Ashton website.

BARA was first formed about 30 years ago and the current committee do give our thanks to the many residents past and present who have worked hard for our community.

If you haven't joined yet, all residents, organisations or businesses with a Bower Ashton address are invited to join in and receive information (it is free). We would like to receive everyone's input and opinions and keep you posted.

The BARA committee meets every two months or so. Sometimes monthly if there is a lot going on.

If you have a little time to help and want a voice in what is happening we welcome new committee members. Especially in streets without committee members those are: Clanage Road and Courtlands Lane.

If you are a resident and would like to know more before getting involved contact me (Peter). You are welcome to attend a meeting to see what goes on without committing yourself to anything more - see the contact information at the end of this page.

We currently accept members from Bower Ashton in:

  • Blackmoors Lane
  • Clanage Road, including The Stone Yard
  • Courtlands Lane
  • Kennel Lodge Road
  • Parklands Road
  • Rownham Close

Associate membership is open for our two closest neighbouring streets:

  • Bower Ashton Terrace
  • Paxton Drive

Your association's objectives are:

  • To promote the interests of the people living in Bower Ashton
  • To identify local issues and seek solutions
  • To safeguard the conservation area status
  • To improve and protect the living environment for everyone in our community

Currently (in October 2011), over 85% of all households in Bower Ashton have joined the association, so we thank you for your support.

You can see information on our constitution here.
